Welcome to Maud

Maud is the filing cabinet your parents had — but it does the filing for you.

You drop documents in. Maud works out what each one is, files it under the right person or property, and tells you what's missing — Gas Safety, MOT, EPC, the works. When you sell the house or trade the car you can hand someone a tidy pack instead of digging through ten years of email.

It's designed for UK families. House documents map to the questions a buyer's solicitor will ask. Vehicle documents map to what the DVLA, DVSA, and your insurer care about. Anything else — passports, payslips, GP letters — has a quiet home too.

Where to start

  1. Getting started — sign up, drop your first document, see how Maud classifies it.
  2. Houses — register a property, see what's missing, get pointed to where you find it.
  3. Vehicles — type your registration plate; Maud fills in the DVLA + MOT data.
  4. Gmail Triage — connect your inbox; Maud finds documents that are already there.
  5. Privacy and security — what we store, who can see it, what you control.

How Maud thinks

A few choices baked into the product:

  • The filing is the point. You shouldn't have to remember whether something goes under "Insurance" or "Home". You drop it in, we classify it, you can correct us once.
  • The completeness panel is a checklist, not a chore. It lives in the Checklist tab on each property or vehicle (the default tab). It tells you what good documentation looks like and where to get the bits you don't have, ready for the moment you'll need it (sale, claim, mortgage application).
  • Tags are the user-defined dimension. Topics (Home, Vehicles, Health…) are fixed. Houses and vehicles are the things you own. Tags are whatever cuts across those — kids, rental, claim-2025, shared-with-accountant. We'll suggest a couple per document (✨ chips on the confirm page); pick from your existing tags or type your own. Filter chips on the per-property All documents tab and the search page do the rest.
  • Multiple ways to add documents. Upload from your phone, connect Gmail to find what's already there, or (soon) email attachments straight in.
  • Households, not single users. Invite a partner so you both file against the same property and the same kids.
  • You own your data. Export everything. Disconnect Gmail any time. Files never leave the Maud server unless you ask them to.
